Bumped her head... HARD. Tonight when we were getting ready to go out for our walk, Bridget was bouncing around per usual and in her excitement whipped her head around and bumped it on the edge of the wrought iron coffee table... HARD. I could hear it and she looked kinda stunned for a second. I checked her out and she seemed okay. She's been playing and ate her dinner. About an hour later I noticed a small red spot at the inside corner of her eye, can't tell if it's a cut or not and the inside of her eye is a little bloodshot. I'm totally freaking out... should I take her to the vet? Please if anyone could help, I'm so worried about my baby. |
I would take her to a vet it sounds like she got a concussion. One time I was swinging my then 2 yr old boy around and I accidentally dropped him and he hit his head and he got blood in the eye. She will probably be okay but I would go to the vet still. |
I wouldn't take a chance I would take her in. I'm sure she will be fine but I know you will worry all night if you don't. |
I wouldnt take any chances, get her to the vet. Anything to do with their head would worry me. At least call your vet and tell them what happened, but I would want her to be checked out. |
I just spoke with the emergency vet. He was really patient while I explained the whole thing. He said he doesn't think it's a concussion, she just knocked herself good which can sometimes cause a small blood vessel to break in their eyes. That freaked me out more and he said to watch her and if her energy drops or she throws up to definitely bring her in or if I just get too concerned to go ahead and bring her in. Luckily, they are open 24 hours and just up the road from my house. She's sitting by me chewing away on her toy and seems fine so I think i'll just keep watch and see how she does for awhile. |
That's good news. I'm glad you called the vet. I bet it made you feel more at ease. Just make sure you give her more hugs and kisses, now that you had that lil scare. Keep us informed on her. |
Whew! That is good news. Just keep an eye on her. |
She will probably sleep all night and you will be up watching her!lol I'm glad you called the vet and that they were nice enough to talk to you over the phone. I'm sure she will be fine. Keep us posted. |
