HELP ... Pregnant Yorkie Question Hi - I'm a fairly new breeder to yorkies. I've had one litter before and didn't experience this problem. It's now 59 days, and she has two fairly good sized yorkies in her tummy (did x-ray to find out) and she isn't producing any milk yet. I just took her temperature and it's down to 99.2 degrees - MEANING puppies within 24 hours. What do I do to get her milk to come in? Please help me - because last time her milk was already producing a week before birth. Katie |
sorry i cant help u but have u called your vet? i'm sure they will help you. keep us posted |
99.2 is not low.... she has to hold it at 98 ..... you need to have supplement ready with nursing bottle just in case. Don't panic if you don't..... get sugar water ready. Mama's milk might still come. If I recall my mom's don't always have milk till puppies are here to suck it out. |
Thanks - I'm now calling my Vet to see what he recommends and also made an emergency run to the pet store for formula!!! THANK YOU!!! |
