Think Your Baby May Be Constipated? Maybe Not... Yesterday Baby was walking around the yard squatting, and squatting, and squatting. She was pushing so hard and a little mushy stuff came out after all that pushing. I got nervous b/c she's never done anything like this. She was outside squatting for a good 5-7 minutes nonstop! Well, like a good mommy  I had to check her butt. She had poop smooshed all over her hair and it smelled gross. I took a paper towel to wipe her and she had some hard popp in/on her bung hole! I thought she had something caught in there! Well, before I freaked, I had Matt hold her still to look closely at her butt. She had flattened, dried poop stuck on her hair completely covering her bung hole!!! It wasn't there for that long because she pooped fine in the morning, but no wonder she couldn't get anything out! That was blocking her hole (poor Baby). So I took an old pair of my mother's scissors and cut the poop off. Now her bung hole was clear. I still gave her some veggie oil with water just in case, but my mom (she's grandsitting today) said she's pooping nicely now! :happyboun :clapsmile I feel so proud of myself! :p I just wanted to let everyone know that just because they may seem constipated, maybe they have something blocking their bung hole!!!! So, go take a look at their privates and check it out! How fun, right!? :p :D |
Great job! The things we do for our babies :) |
bung hole...loooool...I thought I was the only one that said that..haha..Glad that Baby wasn't constipated and that upon closer inspection you cleared the poops passage ways..lol..My Coco bear is the only bear who's rear I will inspect, wash and trim..lol |
Glad everything worked out great. Just another good reason to keep that area back there trimmed real good. I just thank God he gave the hairy butts to the animals and not us, ...YUK!!!!!!! |

I do regular checks and use baby wipes. Yesterday Cali was tring to poop and she kept walking around her wee wee pad and then came out and was still trying to poop. So I grabbed her and she had a long piece of human hair stuck in her poop and her butt so i had to gently pull on the poop and it all came out. |
 OMG  I have had mine to the vet for that, they do get awful blocked...i found that poor mac was in and out of that sink more than my dishes when i first got him...but once its stuck, it does not want to shift.... Just wanted to say good advice....funny post too :D :D :D |

This happened to Edie recently. She was outside for a long time while I was in the bathroom getting ready for work. She came inside, and instead of playing with her toys as usual, she came straight to me looking very pathetic and embarrassed. I figured out what the problem was.... I first soothed her because she was so humiliated. "It can happen to anyone, Miss Edie....don't be embarrassed". Then I put her in the shower and gave her a warm pressure wash with the shower massage....worked like a charm. Then I cleaned the shower. Five years ago I never would have believed I was capable of doing this. :p |
