What else can I do? So Coco had been doing this weird snorting thing, not reverse sneezing, but snorting with flem/mucous or something wet back there. I took her to the vet and she said to give her Children's benadryl allergy (I cut the pill into 1/4) every 12 hours. It's getting somewhat better but she sounds so stuffy. Anyone else have experience with this? Could it be a cold (do dogs even get colds)? The vet said it's not a collapsed trachae because it's not a dry cough or snort, it's really wet back there. Any other ideas? |
Anyone out there with suggestions? |
Sorry, I have no clue. But I'll do a *bumpity bump* for ya! ;) |
Get one of those small vaporizers. I get the ones that you can put the vicks liquid medicine in. They are great when you are stopped up. |
i think it's most likely a cold ; hope everything gets better!:getwell: |

Thanks for that. It turned out to be a sinus infection and now she's on antibiotics and doing great :D |
Sinus Hi, My Webster are also suffering from sinus, he is currently on sinoflux and is doing much better.:animal36 |
I'm so sorry to hear Coco is having medical problems. The first thing that came to mind when reading your post was tonsillitis. Maddie had that a few weeks ago and did the honking noises and also had white foam in her mouth and sometimes it would be white foam around her mouth. Did your vet look in her throat? If not, I'd say it could be a possibility she has a sore throat. YorkieUSA thought Maddie's symptoms sounded like tonsillitis and she gave me this link. http://www.sniksnak.com/doghealth/tonsillitis.html I hope you get it figured out and Coco gets well soon...Maddie sends kisses! |
Coco is all better! :D This was a few months back and after some meds she was good as new. Thanks! |
