Anyone experience this??? Daisy was spayed on Thursday, well, Thursday evening she threw up, which I knew was normal.. Friday, she was fine all day, eat and everything... Yesterday she eat in morning, but not at night, but was fine... This morning when I got up and came to check on them she was fine.. I went back to my room, took a shower and got dressed. When I came up she had thrown up EVERYWHERE! Why would she still be throwing up, she didn't even eat anything since yesterday morning.. Is this normal??? After I cleaned up the mess I went ahead and made her an egg and she eat that, but why in the world would she still be throwing up?? I've never had a female before, so I've only dealt with neuters and I know that's a lot less complicated, but I wouldn't think that she should still be throwing up. Thanks in advance for anything you wonderful ladies might know... ;) |
Anyone?? |
i dont know but i hope she is ok |
Maybe her stomach just got upset by the surgery. Jewels didnt do that but she was shaky and jittery after her surgery. |
After surgery, some need a bland diet for a few days if the stomach is upset...give her boiled chicken and rice..best wishes |
POOR BABY !! I think Pat hit it right on... I would watch her very closely and take Pats advise - and I really hope she feels better soon ! |

Thanks so much Pat!! |
yes- if she is ok today- I think her tummy was just upset from the surgery and or stress. I am hoping she feels great today!!!!!!!!!! |
Arrrrggg, she just threw up again... :( I feel so bad for her. She's shaky too.. I called emergency vet and they told me not to give her anything else to eat today. I gave her nutrical and some fresh water. They said later tonight if she hasn't thrown up anymore that she could have a small amount of kibble wet down with some warm water and call the vet in the morning.. Does this seem normal advice?? She's a BIG girl, so I'm not too worried about the hypogylcemia, but I just feel bad for her. Something is not right. |
Cali was spayed durin gher heat and had additional abdominal surgery on a Monday night. They said I could pick her up at 9 pm Tuesday but I got a call from the er vet at 8:00 that he went to check on her and picked her up and she threw up. She threw up again during the night so they gave her some medicine and I picked her up the next morning around 10:00. She then threw up for me once the next day and was fine after that. The only thing I would worry about is a possible infection. You may want to have her looked at or if you know how take her temperature to see if she is running a fever. I hope she recovers soon. |
And - when your puppies have an upset stomach - don't force them to eat. This often makes them throwup. Sometimes their stomachs need a break and need to rest for a while. Make sure they drink fluid and eat when they feel like it. Usually a dog's appetite improves in only a day or two. Carol Jean |
