Swollen Paw?? Ok I gave Jazzy a bath this morning and I was blow drying her and I noticed that her paw was RED AND SWOLLEN. Lawd my poor baby. Has anyone ever dealt with a paw that was red and swollen. Of course the vet is not open today but I'm gonna take her first thing in the morning. Just want to know if anyone else had this happen to their furbaby. She's walking and running fine and when I touch it she doesn't act like it hurts. |
She might have been stung or bitten by something. Check it to make sure there are no slivers or thorns or anything caught between the pads. For today, soak it in warm water with epsom salts, 1 tsp epsom salts to 1 cup of warm water. Soak it about 5 minutes about 3 or 4 times a day. Epsom salts are available in your pharmacy and relatively cheap. |
I don't think she was stung or bitten because she hasn't been out of the house. |
It really does sound like she was bitten by something. You may not have bees in your house, but spider bites are common (down here in El Paso we also have to worry about scorpions). |
My Pom gets that because she licks her paw. The vet gave me these special pads to wipe hre paw with and then a antibiotic steroid cream. Hope that's all it is. |
