Quick question...dont know what to title it Ok well Emma has been staying in the kitchen (and doing really good) so we decided to leave her out one day, she did great. So we have been leaving her out now while we are gone. The last few days when we get home she is really scared of everything and shakes at the slightest thing, untill about 15 mins she calms down. Well this morning when i got up there was this like mucusy/diarea stuff on the kitchen floor...What should we do. I'm going to call vet, but figured id ask here too. |
You may need to get a medicine for the diahrea. Feed a real bland diet like cottage cheese or chicken and rice. Your vet may have you fast her for a short bit. |
Well sounds like she got into something. Maybe a house plant?? Keep a close eye on her. If it persists I would call the vet. |
Poor baby !! She may be overwhelmed also at all the freedom and maybe feels better in her little area ? I hope she feels better - that would make me so sad to see.....but I would def call the vet if she is having that kind of poops and watch her carefully for dehydration. |
I agree with Vee these little ones like the safety and security of their cages and to much freedom scares them. |
I like to keep my yorkies in a safe area when I leave, especially the young ones. They can get into too much trouble. :animal-pa |
I don't think that its a good idea to keep her outside at all alone. Especially not when you leave. There are a lot of small dogs that are killed by hawks, and other preditors when they are out alone on potty breaks. There have even been yorkies attacked by kyotees when in a fenced in back yard. I am sure that you just want to give her some freedom. I would just hate for something to happen to her. I hope that she is ok, and that she just has an upset tummy or something and that she gets a clean bill of health at the vet. Good luck! |
I keep my baby in a kiddie swimming pool Dylan is 11 weeks old now and during the day while I'm at work, I keep him in a big kiddie pool with his bed and toys and one end and his potty pad at the other end. He doesn't like it very much but it gives him more room to romp around than the crate he sleeps in at night. He's just so darn little that he can crawl right under the port a pen I intended to keep him in. The pool keeps him out of danger though and makes clean up easy. I let him out at lunchtime and as soon as I get home from work. It's worked out great. |
