Help Please - Reggie Needs Us How much karo syrup can I give a 4 pound Yorkie that seems to be hypoglycemic before I need to call the vet and really start worrying? He's 3 months old (read last post). I'm starting to worry.. he starts to perk up and then droops again... :animal-pa |
Help please..... i |
With nutrical you just give a fingertip size amount so i imagine with karo syrup it is about a teaspoon full. Good luck and keep us posted. |
Ok.... I think he's feeling better. I guess it just took longer for his blood sugar to come up this time... thanks for your help chachi! |
I hope he's doing better. i found that pancake syrup works real quick when Cali goes hypoglycemic. The Nutrical seems to take longer once they are already hypoglycemic. |
Are you putting the karo in his water so he is getting some all the time? I believe I would give him a finger full every hour or so to keep his sugar level from dropping. Because once it drops it is going to make him not feel like eating so it's a never ending cycle. Also if he is not eating his dog food very well, give him whatever he will eat, cottage cheese or maybe canned food. Anyting, to keep him eating. Hope that helps. |
