After the C-section I have a quick question. Not really an emergency I hope. My girl had a C at 10pm central last night we delivered 5 puppies 4 live, but she is still not up and around at all. Never had this trouble, but then never had but 3 C's done in 15 years, any advice appreciated :animal36 |
new mom If she is responding to her pups well, nursing and cleaning them, try getting her up on her feet and out of the box. Hold her up gently. You might take her outside to potty and stand a bit..it is important for her to potty and move around. If she is not that responsive, call the vet and have her checked, temp, etc. Best wishes |
My girl had a c about 4 wks. ago. She deliviered 5 pups alive. She wasn't up and around the next day very much either. This is the first time I have ever delt with a c-section in a dog. Did they put her on antibiotics? My vet did. She just may be tired from all of the activity. Hope everything goes well with her and her pups. :aimeeyork |
After having 3 c-sections of my own, I can understand why she doesn't feel like moving! They are pretty sore after being spayed too, for a day or two. I wish I recovered that fast! :aimeeyork |
section Yorkie females are a true wonder of nature...I have had girls undergo an emergancy c-section, come home, run around the house, jumping on the couch or bed annoucing to the entire house they were home. I couldn't do that and I didn't have any sections with my babies. |
