Rash on Belly? Muffin got spayed a couple of months ago. I started to notice a couple of weeks after her surgery what I thought was a discolaration on her belly and I didn't think much of it. But I've noticed more lately that it looks like she has a funny looking rash that almost looks like specks of dirt. When I got her groomed last week the groomer suggested I take Muffin to the vet because she thought it looked like some sort of a dermatitis. She hasn't been itching, scratching or licking it at all. I'm not quite sure if I should take her to the vet or not. In the 5 months that I've had her I've already spent a bundle at the vet (not that I wouldn't spend my last dime on her) for ear mites plus medication, cocsidia plus medication and spaying plus medication. I don't want to be one of those mommies who runs to the vet for every little thing but I don't want to ignore a problem either. Anybody have any suggestions? |
IMO I would wait and see. If it doesn't seem to bother her and it doesn't get worse it might just need some time to clear up. Maybe it came from irritation from the insicion site. |
rash It is most likely a hromonal change..they tend to turn the belly area dark ..happens after nursing a litter and the mom dries up also. |
My Abbie has that too !! She just turned 5 months old and she's not been spayed, of course because of her age. But her belly and in the creases of her back legs looked dirty, so I took and gave her a bath. It didn't work. Then it turned into a rash, well, sort of, but it's spreading slightly all over her belly. It's not red, but there are very few scabs. She doesn't act like it itches her or hurts her, but I wanted to wait before I took her to the vet to see if it would clear up. Her belly turned a darker color also. Maybe it is her hormones because she's had it for about 1-2 weeks now, and she's cutting her adult teeth and losing her baby one's. I would like to know if I should take her to the vet, because I'm an over protective mommy who worries constantly!! She's been to the vet on numerous occasions for my paranoia, and she's only 5 months old!! But I read things on the internet that horrifies me, and I want to keep my baby safe......that's a mommie's job... |
Would someone post a picture.I noticed this on Maggie after i got her spayed and also groomed.Hers is by her who who area and in the creases.I also gave her a bath thinking it was dirt or flea poop.I never questioned the vet. |
I've tried to post a picture but it keeps saying that my file is too big, even though the picture is very tiny. I don't know how else to do it. I really wish that I could help! I would like for someone to look at it anyway to tell me their opinion. I'll keep trying! |
