Shots??? HELP! Mason had his Rabies and some 1yr boosters on Wends. , Starting on Saturday he started Throwing up and Diaharea (SP)....He is still eating and drinking but he has VERY loose poop. He still wants to play and run and eat and drink. Called the Vet they said the shots shouldnt have caused this. What should I do?? His nose is cool and wet, he is eating and drinking , playing as usual. |
Help Please Bump........ |
Feed him chicken and rice or cottage cheese. You could call and ask your vet if you could give him keopectate. If it keeps up take him to the vet and they can give meds for it. |
I swear sometimes when I take my dogs to the vet for something even though i am very careful and do not put them down, they will get sick the next day or so. I would keep him on a hamburger or chicken and rice diet. |
Keep a close eye one him. If he gets worse or doesn't improve take him to a vet. Hope he feels soon better. |
OMG this is so weird, i just took Roxi to the vet 4 days ago to get some shots (she is 14 weeks), an now today she has the mucus poop(not diarrhea), and is still spitting up like a baby. No blood or anything but she isn't eatiing much either. She is drinking very well, and has eaten some dry cheerios but that is it. I have put her in here bed to let her rest, but this happened last time she got shots too. I have noticed that they are giving her all of her shots in one syringe( Combo) , not separate. Can this have something to do with it? |
The poor babies probably picked up something at the vets' office. Sometimes vaccines do give them reactions but these symptoms do not sound like those. I would advise NOT getting more than one vaccine at a time. Space the rabies, puppy shot, Lyme, kennel cough or whatever no less than 2 weeks apart.. Hope both babies feel better soon. |
:( I never sit him down at the vet..He had several shots and will barely eat today..I tried chicken broth , Nope he wouldnt drink it. Now I am boiling a chicken breast..I so hope he will eat alittle! I took his temp it was about 102, is that normal?? Poor baby smells so stinky!!! |
Thanks, I also noticed that when she pooped, just now, that it had a greenish color. Sorta like mine now...I posted earlier I have a horrible stomach virus! Could she have one too? |

:( Mason has Grass in his poo..Its really runny and icky. I have had to carpet clean twice this weekend and my house smell so bad like Dog poo!! My husband was mad because the dog wont stop pooping..I told him that its just like when small kids are sick they just cant help throw up or poop! My poor poor Mason!! Im so worried about him! |
Anything under 102 is okay for a temp. Maybe the vet has checked hers before and has the normal temp on record.. Really simple things can raise their temps a half degree or so... |
Wow is there something going around? |
:( Do dogs get the flu? |
:( Mason still has the poops and his little bottom is so red!! I fed him some chicken and some pedialite. I hope he is better tomorrow!! |
