really warm??? Dollar feels really warm. What could be wrong with him. I think that he might be teething, b/c he is losing teeth. could this be why he is giving off so much heat. please help! |
I dont know if teething makes them warmer but I hope Dollar feels better soon. |
I hope he's feeling better soon! Every now and the one of my dogs will feel warn espcially when they are licking me but they seem all right. |
Check the temp. If it is under 102.5 he is not feverish. If you are really concerned, contact your vet. Make sure he is hydrated and not overly excited. Remember, if one of our hooman kids has a fever of 102 they feel WARM to HOT! But, that is normal temp for some dogs and we compare them to us and think they are hot.. |
A few times I thought Coco felt warm, but she was ok. The vet told me, sometimes their tummies feel hot or they give off a lot of heat. But the way you can tell if they have a fever, if they are lethargic, nose dry, mouth dry, eyes droopy and if you have a thermometer, take their temp to see if it's over 102. |

I HATE taking their temps though!! I'm weird, I know (I can't even bring myself to clip their nails - it is because I don't want to hurt them or make them uncomfortable). hee,hee Hope all is okay........definitely call your vet if you are still concerned or if it doesn't change. |
I haven't noticed it much recently - but when I first got my puppy, and he snuggled up to me --- I couldn't believe how warm he was. It was like holding a little hot water bottle. He has never been sick and has grown and thrived since I got him. He's about 6 months old now - and still as healthy as can be. But - I have to say that I don't notice him being so warm anymore - or have I gotten used to it? So - I'll have to say that I also experienced what I thought was a "warm little dog" with my pup. But he was never sick and is still very healthy. Perhaps - it's a Yorkie thing - given the type of hair they have. We know their hair can't keep them very warm - so maybe they just have warmer little bodies than some other dogs do. AND - someone here told me (true or not) that Yorkies with "cotton coats" are warmer than other Yorkies. I certainly can vouch for this - just thought I'd mention it. Carol Jean |
