diahrea...help What do you normally give a dog when they have diahrea? Baby has had diahrea for about 2 days now? what should i give him? |
You can give him chicken and rice to eat. Some people say to give pumpkin. I took Chachi to the vet when he had it and the vet fasted him and gave him keopectate. If it keeps up I would take him to the vet they can dehydrate so easily. |
I use cottage cheese just a tablesoon full or small amount of peanut butter. Then I have her on chicken & rice. justt for a short time. It works with my yorkie and bassett. Hope your baby gets to feeling better. Taffy, Baby & Star |
:( When Baylee gets diahrrea we give her 2ml(baby dropper) of liquid Imodium three times a day. Cut her food intake to a third of what she would normally get and give her frozen pedilyte (also in baby dept. of store) to keep her hydrated, she likes the friut flavor... She eats boiled chicken breast and baby rice cereal three times a day everyday because of her pancreatitis, it's chronic. Lisa & Baylee |
The fur kids have Kaolin Pectin. Our Ransom had a little diarhea a few days ago and I gave him 2 cc's once @ 3.5 lbs. Be careful your baby does not dehydrate. I would consider a vet visit since your baby is on his 2nd day of loose stools. Hope he feels better soon. |
For my little guy, we did the chicken/broth and rice.....and Pedialyte to make certain he stayed hydrated. Sorry to hear your little one is not feeling well.....hope your little guy feels better soon. |
I would also collect a stool sample and take him to the vet. It can't hurt. |
You don't mention how old he is or how much he weighs but if he is a small pup two days of diahrea as someone mentioned can really dehydrate a small puppy if he isn't drinking enough. Unless you know for sure what caused the diahrea I would take him in. If he has something going on the anti diahrea meds will only mask the symptoms not fix the problem. |
dont have any advise that hasnt alreadybeen posted but ya do have my prayers |
My boy fasted for 24 hrs and I gave him Scour Treat. I also had him on a bland diet of ground beef and macaroni. He seems better now. |
Make sure you keep him hydrated...You can give him pedialyte for that, and make sure his gums and tongue are Pink. You may need to consult a vet if the diarrhea continues. |
