Blood On Rectum My little Kinder had blood on her rectum yesterday after her morning poop. I watched her seemed to be fine had a poop after supper and no blood. This morning after her breakfast she pooped and a dab of blood on the wipe I use. Poor baby has been through a lot lately. Anybody ever have this happen I am a nervous reck. I bring her in today at 2pm to get her checked out. She feels great and very playful for a senior. Susan |
The best thing is taking her to the vet. With all the pups I have had I never experienced this. Although you may not see it there can be blood in the stool, Did you save this morning stool to take to the vet when you go. |
No I did not think of saving her stool. I usually am good at that. If she goes any today I will bring that in at 2pm. When I called the vet the girl did not mention bringing the stool. She said it may be an irritation but get her in to be checked. Susan I wonder if I should cancel today’s appointment and make it tomorrow morning then I will have a fresh poop to bring in. I just had her pooped checked two weeks ago. |
When ever any of my dogs have had stomach issues I always took a fresh sample of their stool, you never know if there may be a worm issue. Worms are not necessarily seen by the naked eye or could be buried deep in the stool that you can't see them. With my boy even if he doesn't need to see the vet, every 3 months I bring in a fresh stool sample to make sure there are no worms in it only because I live in the country with a lot of wild animals, cats and dogs always getting loose, my boy can pick up something from other animals poop by smelling it or just the soil itself can hold parasites that are not safe for our babies. If your vet is not far away you can bring Kinder in today and drop off a fresh sample tomorrow. Call your vet now and ask them about bringing in a stool sample, vets can get a great amount of information from poop. |
UpDate I just got back from the vet and she checked Kinder out throughly. She has a little tear on the upper part of her rectum. Possibly from the diarrhea she had or from her normal harder poop. It will clear up . I am so happy I got her checked out. Now it is back to battling PetPlan to pay my three past claims. They say they do not get the doctors notes and again I have to send this stuff in. Crazy but best news is Kinder. Thanks for replying on my thread . Susan |

Happy to hear nothing serious with Kinder. To bad there is no ointment that you can put on to help it heal faster. |
Glad it was a minor problem. I dab a small bit of plain Vaseline on the butt whenever I see an unusually hard stool. It helps to protect and heal the skin... keeps it more elastic. |
The little rectum tear is inside . She said it would be hard to put anything inside . The Vaseline sounds like a good idea. She is so happy to be home she shakes so bad when she has to go to the doctor. Thanks! Susan |
Thank you for the good report on Kinder. :):):) |
Thanks for letting us know that Kinder is on the road to recovery! |
