Bella needs help,,,!!! Hello to all,,,I'm like alot of folks in that I only call when I need some help,,,so I'm here,,, My female 9 year old Yorkie, Bella, had started limping on her right hind leg and is now limping very noticeable on her LEFT leg to the point she almost will not try to use her left leg at all. My son took her to a vet in El Paso and he said she had Arthritus in her back legs. He gave her some "Equilibrium Artoflex" tablets for a once a day treatment. Anybody got any suggestions? My thoughts were that they would Xray her hind legs to make sure but,,,,I'm not a Doctor,,,, Please help,,,,,, |

I think I would pretty much go to an orthopedic specialist. It could be arthritis but it could be luxating patella or even hip issues. Could also be weakness in the limps do to Lyme or another illness. It really could be so many things. When is the last time she had blood work? Did the vet try and pop her knees out? |
Hey LOVETODREAM88,,many, many THANKS for your response. I had been so very worried and after such a long weekend, I finally got Bella to a Vet this morning and she has referred us to a vet in Roswell, nm that specializes in such matters. We have an appointment for this Thursday morning,,Yes!! Altho I will probably get booted from this forum, I feel I have to say the following. As most animal lovers all over, we dearly love our babies, friends, partners and we suffer greatly when they are not at their best. When they are not well,,,we are not well either,,!! I am very concerned in that I posted here hoping to get some sort of suggestions, and moral support from all the wonderful people that love these animals. Imagine my utter despair when I post a PLEA for help on the 8th (last Friday) and my plea does not get posted till today, 4 WHOLE DAYS LATER,,,I was beyond myself waiting and checking this site every few hours ALL WEEKEND LONG for any response but my post NOT posted for whatever reason to give me some solace for my Bella's health. Yes,,I to say I am somewhat disappointed, would be quite truthful, altho,,, I fully intend to get over my puzzlement at how things developed If I do get booted off,,I do want to thank all of you that suffered with Bella and myself. Life goes on,,,,,,,. |

Your post appeared on 3/8/19, because it was a week end not many members were on the forum, lovetodream88 responded to your post on 3/11 so it didn't take 3 or 4 days to post to the forum it took 3 days to get a reply. Members read every post but if they cannot give advise they do not reply. I read your post on 3/9, I couldn't offer advise so I bumped it hoping someone could answer your question. I can understand your concern over your baby, but you have to understand most members are dog owners just like yourself, some have had dogs with an illness and they are willing to share their experience with others. There are no veterinarians on this forum. I am sorry it took 3 days to get a reply to your questions. There will be a slight delay when you post as you are a new member, once you have made 10 posts all threads will show right away. |
