Thank you Taylor. He was eating last night, slept well, and seems good today too. I am lucky to have a great vet who does a very thorough job and really cares about my dog and me! I needed the care yesterday I can tell you! |

Hi Taylor. Sure is great to have a good eater, sorry two of yours are picky and don’t want to eat after anesthesia. My instructions were to lay off food until evening, but he pestered me so much I had to feed him, so I just fed him a couple of his moistened kibble and did that a few times. He kept them down so I fed him him a smaller than usual amount at dinner time. I decided to moisten his ID kibble with sterilized water rather than feed the canned ID which has a different formula to the kibble. Today I fed the same but in smaller quantities until all the nasty surgery meds are gone, I hope! |
Glad everything went well! Whew! I legit cried when I dropped Jackson off for his last November. He had just turned 9. He really needed it. But doesn't change that I had put it off for a while. He has bad anxiety at the vets so leaving him just absolutely breaks my heart. He came out fine. Groggy and mad at me for 24 hours but he's better off for it. My stomach was in knots ALL DAY. |

Thanks Brit, so I am not the only worrywort. I so hate leaving my boy at the vet, he hates it and shakes. As well as feeling really stressed before and during, I had a scary night last night with palpitations...delayed anxiety. But he is doing fine thank God. I was scared last night that if anything happened to me, who would care for my dog. Which of course did not help the anxiety. I feel shot this am, but the heart seems ok, as is my baby. |
I am so glad that your baby's dental went well! I'm sure he is so happy to have those annoying loose teeth out and the infection being taken care of. I remember asking someone if yorkies were a "bad choice" of breed after everything we experienced with Sophie and she just laughed and said yorkies are fine, but prepare for dentals because she hasn't had a yorkie patient that had good teeth. So I am sure I will be freaking out at some point about Bronx needing a dental lol |

Thank you for your kind words. Yes he must feel better as the little front lower teeth were loose and infected. I feared that the infection might affect his health, so hope we got to them in time. He is doing well now. But I still have remnants if stress left after a week of worry about him. I hope that Bronx will not need any surgery or dental work, so you don’t go through the mental anguish most dog parents do. |
Taylor. Yes he is doing very well, but as yet I dare not look in his mouth to see what the gum space looks like. I am still feeling anxiety after all the worry over my baby, as my nervous system isn’t as robust as my dog’s! Does it take you time after the event to come down to earth, as I know you suffer from anxiety too? |

Me too Taylor, caring for sick pets does that to a person. I hope the long holiday weekend will see both of us better. Nice in CA now, not too hot, hope it is good with you too. |
Just started laughing while reading these posts because my Cali just came running down the hall and dropped one of her tooth brushes in my lap asking to get her teeth brushed. Have not gotten around to it this morning and she is not being patient. Loves that toothpaste and the belly rub that goes with the brushing! |
