Bladder surgery Hello ! Maya had bladder surgery two weeks ago. Everything went well and she is eating drinking normally however she can’t hold her per for too long now. I must take her out every 2 hours and sometimes she’ll have accidents at home. She is Also straining to pee. The vet put her on special royal canin diet and gave her anti inflammatory medication for 2 days. Had anyone else experienced something like that after surgery? Thanks ! |
I would def put a call in to your vet and ask if this is normal w/ healing. If not, there are meds like Proin that could perhaps help with this. But if something is going wrong post-surgery here, I'd def get advice sooner than later...with all that scar tissue developing in the meantime. Please keep us posted :)! |

Hi. Sorry your baby is not doing well after surgery. What exactly was the surgery for? If the reason given for the symptoms was a thick bladder wall, it would be interesting to know what was done to the bladder or if only stones were removed with little wall injury. Hope all is well soon. |

Thanks for the stone info. Did the vet say why a thick bladder wall would cause the symptoms and if this is a usual thing after the surgery? Sorry if it is obvious, but I admit I don’t know! Also will this clear up with time? Another thought, perhaps the bladder wall was irritated by the stones? |

Let’s hope it is just stone and post op irritation and that it will improve soon. But if not, I would surely see the vet again. |
Good luck. I hope that you find that things improve as she continues her recovery. |

Like other posters, just wanted to chime in that I hope recovery continues and that healing is quick. I hope the surgery was a success! |
Sylvester experienced the same problem after his bladder stone removal. My Vet did call in another vet, in case she was missing something. After numerous ultrasounds, blood tests, urine tests and a MRI both vets said it was most likely inflammation. I then decided to to give him CBD oil. The next ultrasound showed a great improvement. He is now back to normal a happy little boy with no problems peeing. |
