Pax had another normal bowel movement yesterday. He ate lunch and dinner with no problems or fussiness. Pilot seems to be doing OK as well. They are both still eating bland food for now. I'm going to try and transition back to their regular home cooked diet slowly over the next few days to a week. I'm still very nervous about the situation, and fear it may come back. |

Assuming the transition goes well, perhaps you have rounded this one. Your post is a good reminder to all yorkie-lovers about how nasty those intestinal parasites can be. |
My heart breaks for you and your little ones. It's such a helpless feeling when they're sick and we can't fix it. |
Pilot (not Pax) is starting to have runny stool again, his stool has been fine for the past 5 days! I don't know what to do anymore, it's a cycle that keeps reoccurring every week it seems. I spoke with the vet and we're going to take another stool sample, but everything has come back negative. I found it odd that both boys need an ultrasound at the same time. Help :( |
Does the vet think the two dogs need to be separated? |
The vet wants to do an ultrasounds next, but something in my gut tells it's something like a parasite or maybe something in their diet like the bottled water we give? |
Ohh... You know these little ones so well. I'm not sure what circumstance the vet will be trying to rule in or rule out with the ultrasound; I'm not sure there is a downside. Are either of the dogs coughing? Will Pilot need fluids? Prayers continue. |

Pilot had his fecal checked while I was at work and it was negative. I came home and Pax also had very loose stool (not bloody). It was very orange. Both have been eating chicken, rice, with some sweet potato the last 36 hours. Perhaps it was the sweet potato? I really hope so... |

Have not used this site before, but did read, Natural Dog Guide article, "Diarrhea in Dogs" (n.d.?), for the list of home remedies. |

I really hope they don’t get don’t black and tarry diarrhea again. We gave Pax Endosorb and Pilot DiaGel/Metronidazole about an hour ago. I feel helpless and stuck! We went stopped dog food because of the calcium isolate stones and the prescription dog food they want him on wasn’t working. The home cooked diet was working so well since late 2013. I’m going to feed them only chicken breast and white rice again in hopes it helps, but I don’t know if I’m just making it worse. |
How are they behaving? |

Pilot lays around and sleeps most of the time (that's normal). He's barking and alert when I ask him who's at the door. Pax wants to play and is very alert as well. |

So feel for you. This seems like this calls for hour-by-hour vigilance. Bless you. |
