Bloat?
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knows what bloat looks like in our tiny yorkies. Whimsy has been acting up for the last 24 hours. Initially he was restless (pacing and barking). Today, he has been very lethargic. As a point of reference, Whimsy normally barks at every sound and he follows me everywhere I go. Today he slept all day, hasn't barked, hasn't followed me around, and hasn't wanted any food. He also was dry heaving briefly. I took him to the vet a few hours ago, and the technician felt his stomach and said it looked fine. I ended up leaving to avoid the exam fee. But Whimsy still isn't feeling better. His belly looks slightly bloated, but it's really hard to tell. He went potty yesterday, but it was incomplete. He hasn't gone today. When I press on his belly, he doesn't wince but he's not one to cry in pain. He pass gas at one point after I massaged his belly, but he usually passes gas all day. I think I'm going to grab him some canned pumpkin, but I'm wondering if someone can help me identify if his tummy is bloated. Does anyone have any photos of small dogs with bloat? Because if he has it, I'd need to take him to the vet now because I'm going to be working all week and he'll be home alone. |
