Laurie W | 07-02-2017 12:22 PM | 3 year old Yorkie suddenly exhibiting irregular gait My cousin called me this morning very upset because her baby was not walking normally. Her grandchildren were over yesterday and played with her dogs but they seemed fine afterward. At bedtime she noticed Lucy wouldn't jump up on the bed even after coaxing. She picked her up and they settled in for the night. This morning she noticed Lucy was walking a little wobbly looking and when she went out in the yard she was running around but still looked like her legs were flinging around. She called me in a panic and sent me a video of Lucy walking. I can see the wobbliness she is talking about in the video but it does not seem too severe. Lucy is not falling over or walking in circles and has no irregular eye movements. Her gums are pink and she is eating and drinking normally. Has anyone had any similar experience or any advice. She lives several hours from the nearest ER vet, is fighting long term cancer herself and is fearful of driving that far alone. I live several hours from her as well and am nursing a very ill older dog myself that I can not leave alone for that long. I don't know what to tell her to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |
