First ER visit Macy had her first ER visit to the vet. Was vomiting and wrenching and making noises when moving. They said she was dehydrated and belly discomfort. Gave IV and shot for anti nausea. Said nothing alarming per exam. Still feel like something is wrong. She wrenched again later tonight and now is sleeping.:cry: |
Do you have a regular vet you can trust? I, unfortunately, have had to take Max and Sasha to the ER for different reasons and I have never been comfortable with the docs there. I trust our regular vet to do a more thorough job |
It was the vet's office that we use. They did all they needed but reading online has made me crazy. Lol |
Reading online will definitely make you nuts because there are soooo many possibilities but hopefully this is nothing more than an upset tummy. I hope you baby is feeling better very soon. |
Thanks!! She is resting now and hope tomorrow is a new day. |
hoping your baby is doing better today. |
So far she is ok. Not drinking much but did eat a bit. Slowly but surely. |
I always say google is my worst enemy. I am a self described hypochondriac so reading online does not help. |
Aww.. I know that exact heart-wrenching hopeless worrisome feeling when they're sick. Hope your baby is doing better today. Keep fresh water around and try to give a tiny bit of food (i.e. boiled chicken breast) throughout the day (rather than an entire meal all at once). |
Doing a little better. Dry heaving a few times but only spit out a little white foam substance. Eating her ID food but not much drinking. Going to bathroom fine and playing. Update ... after all this and she swallowed foreign body yesterday. Called vet and was told to watch and she should pass. Nothing yet in stool. Hoping she is ok. She gonna give me lots of Grey hair. Lol |
Our Bella used to vomit clear fluid from acid reflux/empty stomach. The vet said we could give her omeprazole, or try more frequent feedings to keep her stomach full. We went with more frequent feedings, and that worked for us. Hopefully Macy just had a mild stomach virus that will pass, but if it continues, you might want to ask about acid reflux/empty stomach. If the vomiting continues, it could be problematic, because besides dehydration, Macy could aspirate (inhale) the vomit into her lungs. That happened with Bella, and we had to take her to the emergency vet. That's when they diagnosed her. Fortunately, there was no lung damage and she recovered quickly. |
She has not thrown up since this morning. I boiled ground meat and rice and she has eaten that with no problem. Drinking water is challenging. Don't know why. She was a huge drinker. I have been putting an ice cube in her bowl and she has taken a few licks. She is playful and acting happy. I hope we are turning the corner on this. :dogprints |
