Baby's legs keep shaking Hello, I have my 6 months old Baby neutered today, but he looks really tired, quite and painful. The vet said it is normal because he just got neutered and that he did not have any food since last night (as I cannot feed him anything 12 hours before he neuter and 12 hours after he neuter, so he still does not have any food now *sniff* the poor guy must be really hungry) And now he wont sit or lay down, and his back legs keep shaking. I dont know if this is normal, but the vet office is closed now, so I dont know what to do. I tried to make him rest, but he just keep standing with 4 legs and looks really painful. Even I take his favorite toys out or pat him, he has no reaction at all. It makes me sad when i look at him like that. Please advise! :( |
How long has it been since his surgery? Do you have any canned food that you can give him a little of? More than likely, his blood sugar is low because he hasn't eaten. Do you have any nutrical? |
My Tucker was shaking too when he came home from getting neutered. At first we thought he might be cold but he had a onesie on and was wrapped in a blanket. It turns out his blood sugar was low. Do you have any nutrical? |
Thanks, I will give him some now to see if he is okay. |
I would give him a little nutrical....can he have water? |
Yes I tried to give him a little water, but he wouldnt drink it. He just had some nutrical, but he still wont sit/lay down. He has been home for 7 hours now, and the whole time, he just stand there or walk around slowly around the house, sometimes he just walked with 3 legs, leaving one of the back leg up. I am so worry. |
Poor little guy! When Maddie was spayed, I was told to offer her food that evening and she ate it...she was hungry and she kept it down fine. I wonder why you have to withhold food for so long. My vet told me they are too little to withhold food for a long period and if she ate a little and was fine, give her more. Your poor baby is probably so hungry and can't sleep on an empty stomach! |
