This is painful.. making me miserable This little girl.. the one who was with me day and night-never leaving my side when I lost my best friend in the world (mom) has been with me when others weren't. My best friend. How I'm going to be able to say goodbye, I'll never know. Just thinking about it makes me burst out crying. Jaycee is 10. End stage renal. The same disease I lost my mom to. Brutal. Shes starting to really feel bad and this just feels awful. I just needed to tell someone I knew would understand. Any ideas on something I can make for her to eat? She's quit chicken and rice, hates the KD food. |
Hi my deepest sympathy. Wish there were some sort of cure for this. Just keep trying to find something she will eat. Maybe baby food meat?............. Lynne |
I was like you when I had my little Keally. She was born with genetic IBD and it was awful but we managed it very well. I would cry thinking about losing her it drove me crazy. One day at twelve and a half years Keally looked at me trying to say to me I will not make another summer. When the time came we stood by her side like she did for my husband and I. Our vet was very helpful. You may have a lot more time with Jaycee than you think so take a day at a time. Every day is precious gift with her so love her and try some different things for her to eat. Maybe your vet can guide you on feeding. When Keally passed we knew she wanted us to be happy and go on so we did get another precious baby now going on seven years old. I hope all goes well for you and I pray you have her for a few years more. She knows she has a good mom and a wonderful home. Susan |
I really am so incredibly sorry :(. My heart goes out to you. I will say...when my 20yr old cat was in the later stages of renal disease - I quit with the kidney kibble and just fed her whatever canned food she liked. At that point, I just wanted her to eat, and enjoy eating. Have you tried sprinkling Parmesan cheese on her food yet? |
