What should I ask the Oncologist What are some good questions I should ask the oncologist. I am going by myself so I wont have anyone there to help in case I miss something. Apparently, Boomer has a very advance cancer and they need to see him ASAP. My primary vet said that I should probably not be spending a lot of money on treatments at this time (He tried to say it as nice as possible not in a mean way at all) I was told they may do some type of imaging and those results I can get right away. However, if blood work is needed those results won't be available until Friday at the earliest. I really don't want to have to make another trip. Hopefully she can do a consult over the phone if needed. Below is what I have right now. 1. Besides Chemo what are my other options 2. Staging of Cancer 3. Can predisone help with the pain and slow the progression 4. What is the process if I choose chemo (will I need to take him back every week) 5. What about his quality of life. 6. If I choose palliative care only how long does he have 7. What are the signs to look for that he is in distress? 8. Is he already in distress? |
Ask about the good cells & bad cells. I know it sounds crazy because your thinking , it's lymphoma how can there be good cells ?. I LOVED Sparkys Oncologist, he told us EVERY little thing that was going on. |
