Twynkys | 01-01-2017 12:56 PM | Any and all advice please! My girl's litter is 5 days old. Early this morning we lost the tiny runt. Ever since my girl hasn't been showing too much interest in the puppies. She keeps leaving them or moving around when they are trying to nurse so they can't. I feel like there is something else wrong with the litter but my husband Kross trying to convince me that there isn't. I thought there was something wrong with our runt and listened to him instead when I knew I should've gotten her to a vet. Currently mom is laying down with the babies abs they are nursing but my nerves are so bad right now. The puppy we lost started showing signs of dehydration with the slicked down fur, became more and more lethargic, and started breathing funny which turned into not being able to breath and gaping for air. For a while I thought she was doing better as she was eating and keeping on weight, stayed yesterday morning at 2.0ozs and got her up to 2.3 using YorkieMom1's formula. Unfortunately I forgot we had a tube feeding kit and I used a dropper instead trying to be as careful as possible. She showed negative signs when first born but I thought we were doing good until she took a turn for the worst. Watching how noon is acting right now and the behavior of the others has me worried although there seems to be done improvement. I just don't want to make the same mistakes again. Unfortunately with it being the holiday all offices are closed and theres no emergency hospital. We had to drive 1.5 hours away for emergency help as the on call vet we spoke to nearby stated they may not have had everything to treat our girl. Please, any advice is much needed. I know I need to calm down and stop stressing myself out, but my heart already hurts and I don't want to lose anyone else. |
