Please help Hi everyone, wondering if any of you have had the same experience and can help. My Tcup yorkie had a bneing lipoma on her paw removed 7 years ago. About 5 years ago it started to grow back, and my vet suggested this was normal and best to leave it alone unlesss it became uncomfortable for her to walk. It hasnt grown much in 5 years and does not seem to bother her at all but just friday it started bleeding (seems like it coming from the stretched skin). Vet looked at it, gave her a 72 hour antibiotic to observe and make sure it wasnt a superficial cut. However, it still bleeds sporadically (just dots at a time) and I am worried it might be cancerous. Anyone have a similar experience, suggestions? |
Hi there, although I have no direct experience with the problem you are having, a referral to a specialist sounds like the way to go. A second opinion is never out of order either. let your vet know that you still have concerns and ask him for his support to take the next step in identifying and hopefully solving/using best care practices for your dogs problem. Good luck! Hope to hear good things to follow. |
Thank you Lilah, Its not that my vet isn't concerned, it seems more like she wanted to rule out other factors first. I will certainly be consulting a specialist, it just seems odd that in 5 years no blood work would have indicated any kind of abnormality (I am guessing this is likely what my vet is thinking). Thanks for your response it's great to count on this community for advice and comfort, specially during this time of the year. |
