Should I be worried? I had picked up Evy and I wanted to close her pen because I had to step out of the room/concentrate on other tasks and I didn't want her running around and biting the furniture. As I was closing up the pen, she must have sensed it and tried to wiggle free. Unfortunately, she did and as she started to fall, I grabbed her as best as I could and leaned down to brace the impact more but she still managed to fall as I was gripping her front two legs. She didn't make a sound or cry but I'm still worried that by gripping her front two legs, I could have pulled something accidentally. Should I be worried? |
It wouldn't hurt to check with your vet on this one. Better safe than sorry later on. My Joey jumped from our back porch when he was a young pup and made no sounds and acted just fine running and moving around and all. So I watch him a while and he seemed to have had no serious effects from his leap off the porch. But he has some problems sometimes with his legs jerking when I am holding him and turn him on his side to brush his teeth and sometimes his one back leg trembles some and I rub it and it seems to help then. But he gets around like nothing is wrong for the most part but I often wonder if maybe he did get hurt after all with that jump and wish I had taken him in. He won't jump anymore after that time either. Hope you have no problem with the baby. It can be so scary when they try to jump and there is not a whole lot you can do to stop them as my Joey does out of my arms sometimes. |
Welcome to YT, I hope your Evy is ok. |
I researched a bit and came across a video where a vet explained how to check on a dog's legs and I did the tests and she seems to be fine. Not to mention, she just learned how to climb up to higher surfaces so she's been running and jumping around just fine. Just a little paranoid I guess because of the way I was holding her and how she landed. |
If she is tiny be careful of the jumping off things, she could cause injury to her tiny bones. Glad to hear she is ok. Thanks for the update. |
