Not an emergency benadryl dose question. I have written down 1/4 of a tablet, but the benadryl isn't beside the dose on my med dose sheet. I dont' have liquid for her; and it's a 25 mg. I know it's 1.4 ml from a 3 pound 8 oz dog years back on this board. thank you |
1 Attachment(s) I prefer the attached chart, but I found this information: 1. Liquid Benadryl [12.5 mg / 5 ml’s]: pet’s weight in lbs. divided by 2.5 = ml’s to be given. [i.e. - 8lb dog (8 ÷ 2.5 = 3.2 ml’s)] 2. Benadryl 25 mg tablets: pet’s weight in pounds divided by 25 = number of tablets to be given [i.e. - 13lb dog (13 ÷ 25 = .52)] Give a 1⁄2 tablet. I don't know if these will help in any way, since you have already written the information down. I have both the liquid and the pills in my house. I have the liquid because, if Katie was having an allergic reaction and was non responsive, I could get liquid into her. I hope your baby feels better. |

Benadryl is 1-2mg / pound of body weight -- I'd always give the 2mg dose for any allergic reaction as it can be life saving. |
Great information -something we all should have readily available. Thanks all for sharing. |
