Vomiting yellow bile and loose stools Moxie seems fine and definitely has energy and wants to eat. But this am she hacked and then vomited yellow bile. This was before breakfast so she was vomiting with no food in her stomach- she hadn't eaten for almost 12 hours. Also, she had some loose, watery stools. Could this just be an upset tummy or a sign of something more serious. She hasn't eaten anything abnormal. She ate a different food than usual, but she has eaten that food before and been fine. Thanks so much- you all are so knowledgeable and such a great resource! |
Poor baby! Any blood in the stool...? Could be just an acute gastritis / stomach bug. But keep a VERY close eye on this bc w/ these symptoms, you always want to beware of pancreatitis which needs medical intervention quickly. |
I think I would call the vet to be sure. These little fur babies can go down hill fast if they do not eat and are vomiting bile. Hope all goes well. Susan |
I had a similar experience with Max when I tried to change his food back to a brand he had been fine with as a pup. Could just be the change of food, especially if it was not gradual, or it could be that the old food doesn't agree with your baby anymore. The manufacturer may also have made changes to the food. In Max's case, I suspect that was the problem. My boys have also picked up a 24 hour flu-like bug once. I agree with the everyone above though to monitor closely and don't hesitate to see the vet. Pancreatitis is always a concern with gastro problems. |
Empty stomach for too long make mine vomit too |
Still switching food suddenly is asking for trouble....always mix with previous |
My dog is almost 3 and has spit up yellow bile since a puppy. At least once a week. Vet told me it is because he has an emtpy stomach. Try feeding him more often and smaller meals. |
