My Tess 14 y/o yorkie All of my Yorkies have high bun levels and creatine, but now Tess seems to have developed some sort of neurological disorder , her paw folds over when she stands, and her legs turn in😞 it was just the front legs but now it's the back to,very very hard for her to walk now , she sleeps most of the day and she lost her hearing, just not sure what I can do at this point. her appetite is gone to, she did eat chicken and rice tonight but it's a battle every day ! I am so afraid to lose her, but I am being selfish I think, we had her mom put down in 2013 and I swore I would never do that again 😢I've been so sad over this for weeks worrying about her, I feel like I can't let her go? Am I wrong? |
I am so sorry. As our babies age it is so hard on us. Making decisions are never easy either. I will be praying for your baby. |
I am sorry for your baby and you. High BUN and creatinine levels are often a sign of failing kidney function. Did your vet recommend a prescription diet and meds? Treatment can possibly help and extend her life. The neurological symptoms could be related to declining kidney function. I would talk to your vet about diet and meds and go from there. If that is not an option or there is no change, then I would put her comfort first. I know that making the decision to let our pets go is the hardest part of loving them. Praying for your baby and you. |
I'm so sorry for this hard situation that you facing right now. Give you some hugs and also my prayers for both of you. |
How is your baby doing now ? I would see the vet ASAP as this could be anything from kidney issues to disc issues. |
Tess we just got her blood work back and she is off the charts, i have had to feed them protein b/c they will not eat, but just found this recipe. Please tell me what you think, i want her a little while longer, she is at the vet now to have her hydrated, This is the recipe i found, beef, parsley, green beans, sweet potato, rice, coconut oil, egg whiles, and tums crushed up I am praying this is a good recipe and that if its good they will eat it...........................: |
Talk it over with your vet. You wouldn't want her to suffer :( |
Has your vet mentioned Azodyl & Epakitin ? if not I would ask about them ASAP , BEFORE you give any proteins. |
