Bite Mark Or Something Else My yorkie has a weird bite mark or something similar near the back of his neck. Here is a picture. https://www.dropbox.com/s/e2c00k21os...20517.jpg?dl=0 He had a tick on the inside of his ear recently. This was removed and not near this mark. I also then applied flea and tick frontline protection on the back of his neck. It wasn't direction on the area of this mark, but the area is just above where I applied the frontline... about an 1/2 inch above. It kind of looks like some missing hair with a pimple like thing in the middle. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I would have the vet take a look because it looks like it is bleeding and fairly sizeable. Has he been scratching at it? Was this the first time he has had Frontline? It's possibly a reaction that caused him to scratch at the area. Could also be a spider bite, which one of my boys had. Vet gave us a topical spray antibiotic and something oral. Keep us posted. |
Have a vet look at it, but it looks like a hot spot to me - which is just a layman's term for localized pyoderma. For local pyoderma, vets usually prescribe Muciprocin ointment. Does she have allergies? |
No allergies or history of anything like it, I'll keep an eye on it and see how it looks in a week or two. Thanks for the info. |
