Urgent Yorkie Vet/Surgeon Recommendation in NYC Area Needed PLEASE Dear Members, Our poor Yorkie has been having trouble with his back legs falling out from under him for months & now today it is also involving his front legs. We've spent $1000s at the vet was told it was "just VERY mild subluxating patellas in his back legs with possibly a VERY slight tear to his right ACL." He was put on limited activity & pain meds, but now considering it has become worse I suspect there is something neurological or a spinal disc problem. Can anyone please recommend a very good vet/surgeon in the NYC area that deals with neurological/orthopeadic/surgery with very small Yorkies (4.8lbs)? Thanks Erica |
URGENT Neurology Vet or Surgeon Recommedation Needed Hi Could anyone please recommend a good Neuro vet or surgeon (as we suspect a spinal or disc issue now) anywhere near NYC? I would love to get our furbaby in as soon as possible but also can't afford to spend money just vet/surgeon shopping. Thanks for any recommendations or advice! Erica |

You could contact the University of Tennessee Vet. Hospital. Very best in the country. But, very far for you. Hope you get great treatment for your baby. |

Actually that made me think of Cornell: Companion Animal Neurology |
I dont know how I would have survived without A&M Vet School, so many years ago, back in the 70's....they existed before it became such a wonderful thing to have "specialists" in vet medicine, operating in wonderful, up-to-date human hospital equipment and meds.....and they are my fall back to this day, which fortunately, has not been a necessity for many years now! But you have a great vet school there...UT!! Fabulous place!!! Fantastic vets!! Please keep us informed about your baby....we all do care! |
I don't have personal experience with them, but I've heard great things about Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. "The Animal Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital for companion animals and an institute for veterinary education and research." I hope your little boy gets better.
