swollen lymph nodes in legs very worried! I inherited my old lady (13 this month!) when my mum passes away and she's been fine up until now, however I found she had two swollen glands or lymph nodes near her front two armpits two days ago. they definitely weren't there last week as she is a cuddle monster and I would have found them! I took her to the vets and they say her neck glands are up too slightly and that it could be 1} her manky teeth spreading an infection 2} an infection as they feel soft not nobbly 3} lymphoma I took her back today for a fine needle thing to test the cells just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience that turned out not to be cancer? just feeling really anxious about it, she's perfectly fine in herself eating well etc. any thoughts/advice would be much appreciated! |
My friend's dog had the same symptoms....3 years ago. The vet truly thought the worse, but she turned out to only have an infection of some sort. She was fine in a week or two, I can't remember all the details, it was so long ago. Long story short, the doggy is fine. I hope and pray for the same great outcome for your baby. |
It could be any number of things but I'll be praying for the least serious. |
Thanks for your kind words She has had the needle and waiting for the results now The vet said there was puss so hopefully the old girl will just fight off an infection! Will keep you posted xx |
Please consider getting her teeth cleaned (and the infected ones removed). My old boy got his dental at 13 years and I was so worried but he did great! He lost 7 teeth and he is like a new dog! He's 15 now and still going strong. A bad infection from the mouth can spread and cause permanent damage to vital organs. Best wishes!! And Im so sorry about the loss of your mother. |
How is this pup doing now ? |
I hope it's not lymphoma that's too dangerous disease for our dog! What is the latest finding about your pup? Send us update hope she will be okay soon. |
