Is her neck normal? When I'm rubbing Precious at the very top of her neck right behind her ears it feel bigger than the rest of her neck & I think there's a bone there too & if I start from the bottom of her neck with fingers on both sides & slide my fingers up it feels like it gets bigger/thicker. & if I put my hand at the top of her head & slide downwards to the beginning of her neck it feels thicker I worried about this a while ago and checked my grandmothers Yorkie & it was the same exact thing. Also when precious went for a check up for an injury & she wasn't doing anything and wasn't being herself, the doctor was feeling around her neck & everything was okay until we turned her head to the far left & she yelled but after about 3 days she was back to her normal self Could this just be my anxiety getting to me? When I feel around her neck a lot she just looks at me like I'm crazy |
& also that was her first injury ever & I think it was my fault for hugging her too hardly the day before I took her to the vet :'( because that made her scream and she wasn't herself after that |
I would definitely have her neck palpated and examined again if I were you, especially since you're concerned and she did have that yelp. |

Could be a muscle/neck strain. Max had one that made him scream in pain when he strained himself to bark at the garbage truck. We made an emergency trip to the vet and got anti-inflammatory and pain meds. Our vet has not ruled out that Max may have a disc issue. That will require more extensive testing if he continues to have problems. We try to discourage him from jumping. Furniture is one thing, but he also jumps in place to show excitement -- over 3 feet in the air. Not easy to prevent that. |

Glad she is feeling better. I've learned through a bunch of doggy friends that back/neck disc issues, IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease) can be that way: one day the dog is practically immobile, the next day the dog is back to normal. Some are not as lucky and have months of problems, or permanent damage. Just something to be aware of. |

Thank you :) I hope Max starts feeling better. & I'll have some X-rays done with her next yearly check up in August/September if she starts hurting again since she won't need dental work |
Thank you! Max is fine, but he does worry me. He is so hard on his neck. He will have a dental before the end of the year, and we'll do xrays then to check out his neck. Hoping both of our babies stay pain free. :) |
