Upset Stomach no vomiting. Our 3 yr old has an upset stomach! We can hear his stomach gurgling etc. and he is visibly uncomfortable. This has happened before due to some treats we gave him but this time it happend all of the sudden this morning. The first time it happened we took him to the vet and they prescribed Metronidazole and that helped immediately. He has since finished it and was was wondering what we can give him before going to the vet again so to relieve his stomach in the mean while? Thanks in advance! |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Were there any changes in his food in the last 24 hours? Any treats yesterday or chews? Did he eat breakfast at the same time? |
I am not a vet and certainly can not prescribe medicine for your pup, but if he is just bloated and gurgling and uncomfortable, and you can not get him to the vet for exam/meds, if he is still active and running around and just seems uncomfortable and "bloated", I would be putting him outside and playing with him for exercising, exercising, exercising!! That will help him move his bowels and he will pass what is making him distended and gurgling....watch him to be sure he can have a bowel mvmnt. If he can not pass whatever is making him distressed, or if that is not the issue, you will know shortly...if he has not had a bowel movement in 24 hours, I would take him to the vet just to be sure he is not completely obstructed. |
Thanks all! |
Is there a home remedy? He poos but we did give him a different doggie treat last night... We will monitore. |
If there is tummy trouble, you should probably look into switching his main food. What are you feeding as kibble etc? I'd try something different, and grain free as well. |
