2 yr. old Yorkie fell! HELPPP!! Yesterday, my yorkie fell and hit his head on the concrete outside of our house. He was crying at first and I noticed that his right eye was closing. He seemed a bit dazed at first and he kept shaking. Today he woke up and he seems normal. He is eating and drinking water, he went outside and my dad even took him for a walk, but he is not being the normal dog that we are used to seeing. His tail is down and when we talk to him he looks around as if he were trying to find something. Also I noticed that I whispered and talked to him on his right ear and he seemed bothered. He kept shaking his head and looking around. What should I do? I'm scared that maybe his eye or ears are damaged!! As i mentioned before, he walks normal and he even wanted to play with his toys but I just know that something is not right! Should we just wait it out? |

You really need to take your Yorkie to the Vet. Hoping and praying you get your pup to the Vet..Lynne |

If you think he is not acting normal, he needs to be seen by a vet. There is nothing we can do over the internet. |

Hi and welcome to YT. You should not wait, ever, if/when you see continuing symptoms following a head injury as that can mean brain swelling and even death if not addressed immediately. PLEASE get to a vet ASAP! |

PLEASE get this baby to your vet today. |

Please, a head injury in ANY living thing that has a brain, should be assessed by a medical professional immediately. That baby's brain could easily be swelling inside his skull, and if it continues to swell, you will at best, have permanent brain damage in your pup, at worse, seizures and death. ANY head injury that results in confusion, disorientation, dizziness, loss of consciousness, vomiting, unsteady gait, etc....need to be seen immediately by a medical professional. |

You have received excellent advice. Please take him to the vet. AND let us know how he is. |

In an attempt to keep me from worrying myself to death, over something I have absolutely NO control over, so I can enjoy the rest of my Holidays without concerning myself over this unfortunate little baby, I am going to just tell me this was not real, that it was posted to get us riled up...especially when they have never bothered to return with so much as a "thank you", "kiss my a$$", "my dog has survived", etc. when people took time from their Holiday celebrations/company, to give suggestions for the best interest of the unfortunate pup..... |
