Puppy throwing up, please help Im having the same problem! No diarrha and she is peeing and pooping normal. She has had X-rays and exploratory surgery and nothing was found. her white count is normal, temp 102,and lungs sound fine.. what else should i do? |
I'm very sorry your baby isn't feeling well. I pray things get better for you; you have both been through so much already. You probably will get more responses if a new thread was created. I notified the administration to see if they can do this for you. |
Sick baby I agree that this should be a new thread. Welcome to YT :) So sorry your baby is feeling bad and that all the tests show no cause. Does she throw up food or just foam and bile? If it is the latter, could it be an acidy stomach and gastric reflux? If it is the former, could she just be eating too fast and regurgitating? When does she do this and is she hungry afterwards? I know all questions and no answers!! Hope you find a solution soon. |
Sick Baby Im new so how do i create a new thread? she was keeping the food down when i started back on raw food, then she started eating some of my big dogs die food and started throwing up again. Yesterday she had only yorkie mush and she threw up bile in the middle of the night. She's hungry. Olive is also asking her head a bunch. My poor baby |
Why not keep her on the raw as she kept that down before? She should not eat the big dog's kibble as it seems to make her sick. As for throwing up the Yorkie food, it could have been all digested in the night leaving her with an acidy empty stomach. The Yorkie food MAY be ok and it was the empty tummy that was the issue. My dog used to throw up bile in the early morning so my vet suggested I give him Pepcid at night with his last small meal, with me it was 8 pm, and he was fine next morning. I can suggest the dose if you want me too (or you could look on the web) , but it would be better if you asked the vet if Pepcid is ok and what dose. ( I give a 1/4 of a 10 mg tablet)) Hope this helps, but of course there may be some other issue that you could find out from another vet visit. |
sick puppy Thank you so much!! Olive gets her stitches out tomorrow, Ill talk with her about the pepcid. thanks Kate and Olive |
Hope all goes well tomorrow for Olive's stitch removal. Ouch, poor baby! Get well soon :) |
Is she vomiting or regurgitating her food? That is key in finding a problem. Vomiting is a wretching of food from the stomach. Regurgitation is where it simply comes back up which is seen in mega esophagus. Sometimes it is necessary to do an upper GI on these pups to see how the GI tract is functioning..... Why did they do exploratory surgery? What did they suspect? |
Bumping for an update on our pup. |
