And, for another person to come here and excuse it meanwhile accusing me of admonishing? pfft I am simply bringing to hers and everyone else's attention that this is a horrible way to let a pup be. As to your first line: I cannot imagine it either. I would do one of two things...FIND a vet that I could get to OR not have a pet. |
How is he doing today? Thought of him all night. Praying he's on the road to recovery. Once Willie had his IV, he made a complete turn around pretty much over night. Within 2 days he was eating his regular food again. Hopefully you will see similar changes. |
I would of had chester back to the vet days ago, and left him for IVs fluid and testing |
PLEASE - get this dog TO A VET ASAP!!! Doing anything less is simply the wrong thing to do! |
I hope this pup is ok. I feel sick that something may have happened to him.... This has been yet another maddening thread. I just want to add something for the OP as well as anyone else who thinks it is ok to let a pup suffer. There is NO excuse for such behavior...NONE. If you cannot take care of a defenseless being, give it to someone who will. In this case, the OP said she was in a rural area....personally unless she was on some uninhabited island with no boat or airplane I see no reason. And, really who would live in such a place anyway? As for the OP, I looked up her postal code and encourage others to do the same...certainly does not look rural to me: Calgary, AB T3L 1N1, Canada And, many vets there. :( SO, even if she moved...the story about one vet? I don't know. I also saw an old thread of hers where she referred to two vets she used..... ?? There was no mention of only one vet two hours away. Now, of course, you might she moved...again, I ask....what kind of excuse is this? Maybe it is an inconvenience, but you have chosen to have a pup and live where you live. It is NOT the choice of this tiny being who can't drive himself to a vet! I always wonder what these people do when they themselves are sick...my guess is they find a way. :( |

Secondly, he was monitored 24 hours while he was sick. Someone who shouldn't have a pet would go to work, leave them in their kennel and what happens happens. I did return him for treatment a few hours after my last post which I was going to update when I got a moment, we were just trying to catch up on rest and get back to normal. His x-Rays and bloodwork came back great, except for a few stats that were on the borderline since he was on the verge of dehydration WHICH I caught by the way! They gave him subq, some special recovery food and he came home with me and he instantly felt better within the hour. It took about an hour vet visit overall. I have even took extra days off work to ensure everything is ok. I have a pet because I can responsibility, I have the time, and money isn't an issue plus he has pet insurance. All qualities and perks of a bad pet owner LOL While we're on topic and you insulted my choice/location of living I am from calgary, which is large and no lack of vets, but since getting waffles work as a consultant has taken me elsewhere for the time being and yes it's isolated, but that's the value of work ethic and how us Canadians sometimes do it eh. take a moment and educate yourself about life outside of Texas. I know they say everything is bigger in TEXAS but I never heard mouthy, insulting opinions being one of them. You may pose to be all that on this forum, but who really knows what you are behind the computer, I doubt it's anything near perfect! It's easy to pass judgement on a computer, that's okay, I excuse your ignorance. Aside from that, thanks to everyone who was genuinely concerned. Glad to say everything is ok! Definetly a scary experience and I truly feel for anyone who has been in such a situation and perhaps not such a good outcome. Thats a wrap. Perhaps this thread should be locked since ladyjane failed to control herself. Shame on you. |

So..shame on me? Hardly. Shame on you and shame on anyone who supports such treatment of a pup. |

Your words. I cannot imagine anyone leaving a pet that sick for seven days. As for me being perfect...no one is, but anyone who knows me (and trust me people here know who I am and what I do .. not just online folks) knows I would NEVER let a pup be sick that long. I don't make a habit of telling people things to do that I have no experience with. That post turned my stomach and I have zero problem telling you that. I would tell anyone who did that they were wrong...even a relative. |
And now, I will do you a favor and let the admin and mods know you want this thread closed :) For the future, all you have to do is click on the exclamation point in the lower left corner. Lastly, thank you for letting us know Waffles is ok. |

No LASTLY, judging by every second or third post in your history you spend more time insulting people and criticizing individuals who post here than you do providing helpful information. you must seek threads just to create a riot. I wouldn't be surprised if half of your 23,xxx post are just mouthing off. If you go around jumping everyone constantly and you do this in real life I'm surprised no one has had the guts to put you in your place. If you want to be an advocate for mistreated pups, go make yourself useful, get off the computer and donate your time to a shelter where there is actually mistreated animals who need lots of love care and attention, you'd be better needed there. |
