Double Teeth both sides - pet sitting - how soon does this one need help? 1 Attachment(s) Hi all how soon does this poor dear need help? I am dog sitting. _____ is not back until Monday, and it's Wednesday now. I noticed she can't eat hard food. And she threw up yesterday and most of the food was not chewed. It's clear she can't close your mouth properly with the teeth like this. Before I freak out my ex with some alarmist news I was hoping to get an opinion here first. I adore this dog. Even though she got it from her new boyfriend. I have pictures I'll try to attach although I am doing this through my iPhone so I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to. But I will hop on the computer and do so momentarily. Apologies if this was already answered in another thread. Max |
Other side of teeth. 1 Attachment(s) Other side. Pic attached. Thanks in advance. You all are so helpful. It's the first place I turned when I was worried about everything watching this dog. What a character! She's like the ambassador for happiness every time I walk her she greets strangers in the street by jumping on their legs and wiggling your body everybody loves it. If they are not a little startled at first. |
Ok, she is ready to see the doggie dentist. Has she been spayed yet? The doctor can easily take care of both. She will be so much more comfortable. Please tell the caregiver sooner not later. Good luck. |
Thanks I told her already. Is this something that is really uncomfortable for the dog? Can it wait till next week do you think? |
Would love to remove the "dog sitting for my ex" part too. And the new boyfriend stuff. Ugh. I gave way too much info. She'll kill me if she finds this. Lol. Thank you! |
If the caretaker is planning on spaying little Miss Lili, she is 6 months old, this is when spaying usually is done, when they put her out for the spay surgery they usually remove the baby teeth, they would remove the teeth you are concerned about. I don't think Lili is in pain, maybe uncomfortable because she can't close her mouth properly. If she threw up and the food was whole you're correct, she cannot chew hard kibble. Maybe try putting warm water in the kibble, it will soften the food make it easier for Lili to chew. You wouldn't want Lili to undergo anesthesia twice by getting the teeth pulled this week. Check with the caretaker, see if she plans on spaying Lili, if she is not, then the pup can go to the vet and get the teeth removed. If she is planning to have her spayed the teeth will be removed at that time. Call the caretaker, see what their plans are. You're a great guy to puppy sit for an ex, and be so concerned and caring for this little girl. Good luck and please keep us up-dated. |

Thank you guys so much such quick and thorough answers. It's what I thought and I checked with the caretaker, and she is getting her spayed and so will do the teeth at the same time. I can't thank you guys enough. Yeah I'm a good guy but this is a really special dog too. |
Thanks for the up-date, and thank the caretaker for having Lili spayed, it's the best thing she can do to keep Lili healthy. Please tell the caretaker she cannot wait to long to have her spayed as little Miss Lili is not able to eat well, this should be done ASAP so Lili can eat normal. YOU are a special person as well, to love this puppy as much as you do, they have that special way of wrapping us around their little paws lol. |
The baby teeth need to be taken out. They are causing problems and if left in for too long could cause damage to the adult tooth that could cause loss of that tooth as well. |
