bosco is sick
 
:( bosco ate a dead caterpillar the other day and now hes throwing up and it really stinks and he wont eat now or drink anything, last night he ate a few treats and drank some milk, im trying some chicken broth now, he goes into the vet tomorrow, what else can I do for him? poor guy just wants to lay around and do nothing, wish I could be with him but I am at work, my mother is home with him though.:animal-pa

Do you know what kind of caterpillar he ate? Some are really poisonous....I think I would get him to the vet if he is still sick this afternoon....if that bug was toxic/poisonious, it could be doing damage to his liver/pancreas/kidneys if you wait too long or in some cases with these weird bugs, even if you respond immediately after symptoms start, the pup can suffer damage.......how is your baby doing today?

Bosco is not well, last ate a little of his food last night, he has a vet appt this afternoon at 4, I hope they can help him, I'm so worried about him.

I did not see the caterpillar, I was outside with him on his leash and my neighbor seen him eat it and said it was one that was stuck in between the sidewalk cracks, I think it was a black with a little orange color on it.:confused:

Oh, my. Please let us know the outcome.
A few week ago mine picked up a leaf that had some kind of white & black caterpillar. He didn't eat it but it stung him or excreted something.
He immediately acted like his throat was itching or hurting. He also immediately started vomiting fomey stuff.
I really should have went straight to the vet, but didn't. I did give him chipped ice & that seemed to help.
Believe me I WILL head for the vet if it happens again.
Our little Yorkies can't take things as easy as larger dogs.

Hope this little one is okay. In the future, any time there is a possible toxic interaction w/ a bug - give Benadryl ASAP - you should have the dosage posted somewhere and always have Benadryl on hand for pets.

:D I am happy to report, Bosco is just fine, the vet seen him and checked him out and suggested some food to enhance his appetite and liquid that's kind of like pedialite (for kids )but its for puppies, he is running and jumping around as usual and I am so happy to see him back to his normal self:animal-pa:animal-pa:yelrotflm:thumbs up:yorkietal:ghug:

:thumbs up:animal37:yorkietal:ghug:I took him in to the vets yesterday and they say hes fine, just recommended some vitamin and mineral water for pups and some food to enhance his appetite and he is now running a muck again, happy as can be!!! I thank you all who joined in and commented and helped us through this ordeal, thankfully it wasn't worse, it just took him a couple a days to pull through this himself by vomiting it all out and a lot of TLC from everybody, incld all of you. im so thankful for this site! you guys are awesome.:animal-pa
