Liver Issues HI everyone. We just took our 5 year old Yorki to the VET. They found a mass on his liver. They are not sure what it is and are sending it to a radiologist to look at it in the morning. Does anyone have any experiences with a Yorki with a similar issue at a similar age. I think he is too young for it to be a life threatening cancer or something . I am really nervous. |
I haven't had anything like that but I am praying that your baby will be ok. I know I would be a nervous wreck too. Please let us know what you find out. |
Thanks... We have our fingers crossed |
dog I am concerned about the number of dogs with cancer today. Years ago dogs ate scraps and hardly ever got sick. Today it is so common. I pray your dog will get a good report |
Hoping for the best for your baby. Keep us posted. |
Hopefully it is nothing serious. Often vets see things on xrays that are really not as awful as thought....your vet is smart to have a radiologist review it. I had an issue similar to this in March of this year. My vet told me that my Rookie had a large tumor in his spleen/liver area .. most likely hemangiosarcoma. I was mortified. He referred Rookie to the specialist who said he had an enlarged liver, but there was no mass. The radiologist agreed. He ended up in ICU because he was losing protein and they scoped him. He has lymphangectasia. No cancer! He is doing well now. So....try to think positive until the radiologist views the xrays. Please keep us posted! |
