Hair loss beside nose area? My Yorkie had some redness on the side of his nose for a few days and today I found a bald patch on that same area! What might be the cause of this? I haven't switched her food, or gotten her a new toy or anything? |

Does he scratch himself, if so he may have allergies. My Cody has allergies and scratches, his nose looks just like your pups, his is on both sides, his is from scratching. |
If he's scratching, it could be from that. Otherwise, I'd be worried about ring worm (a fungus, not a worm) or something. No other symptoms at all? |
Yes, she's always scratching herself! I'm not sure if she has allergies or where they're coming from. I've switched her food, washed her bedding, cleaned her food and water bowl, but she still scratches. She doesn't have ticks or fleas. My vet said that the scratching could be due to mosquito bites. Now that I think about it, she does seem to always scratch/rub her paw on that side of her nose! |

My Cody has allergies and is always scratching under his nose, under the nose is red from the scratching and he has hair loss, it looks exactly like your dog. Cody is on med. Apoquel for 6 weeks now, he has a vet appt. this week, vet may have in change dosage, I never had a dog with allergies so I don't know what the process is. Google "canine ringworm pictures" does that look like what your dog has? it will also give symptoms of ring worm. Allergies come from environment, pollen, dust in the house, if you use air freshener in your house, what you use to clean your floors, can be many things. Your dog may be allergic to his food. You need to speak to your vet about allergies. |
What came to my mind since it is on her nose/mouth was do you use plastic food and water bowls? Some dogs have a reaction to them. I have used only stainless steel. Just a thought. |
