Wasp sting ! So I went to the Vet Tues . . .reason why . . I will tell you . . a big flying yellow and black stinging thing ( Wasp ) stung me in my face. While I was inside the house ! . . What was it doing inside. . . The big meanie. . . I cried. I kept rubbing and rubbing my face. It hurt really really bad. The Momma used a wash cloth to wipe my face not knowing what was going on. Then she walked where I was when she heard the cry and saw that flying thing on the floor. . She sqooshed it ! The Momma called the Vet. They said I can get Benedryl or bring me in. . So she packed me up and rushed me to the Vet. She said because I was little and she needed to make sure. They checked me out to make sure I was not swelling bad. But they did give me a shot in the bum of Benedryl . . I am not happy about that. We waited 10 mins to see if I was going to have a reaction. . . But no. They said I was good. . . . Just need to take it for a few days. . . Maybe there will be extra treats in it for me . . The Momma said best money spent for peace of mind. |
He is doing well . . They told me that the Benedryl wound make him tired or lethargic . . I got to say. . Not for him. . Running . . .around playing. I am so glad he did not have a bad reaction. |
Poor Galen! I'm happy he didnt have a terrible reaction to the sting and you were able to take him to the vet soon after he was stung. Darn those wasps! I wonder how it got in? We once found a tarantula in our front hallway :thumbdown:mad:. |
Glad to hear Galen is doing well. Wasp stings can be a b****. A tarantula! I'd move. |
Awww... poor little guy - so happy there was no adverse reaction. Poor little buddy. |
I am relieved precious little Galen did not have a bad reaction. Very, very scary, especially in the face!! Nasty wasp. Sending gentle hugs to your little cutie. Quote:

Poor little Galen, glad you got him to the vet. Hope he is doing well. |
Poor Galen. Hate those wasp things!!! Glad he is doing OK. |
Poor Galen!!! Glad to hear he's ok thanks to mom's quick response! |
Glad our buddy is okay. How scary |
Poor Galen :(!! Those stings hurt so bad! I'm sure, though, that giving Benadryl so very quickly greatly reduced the effect of the sting. Good Momma :). |
I'm so glad your little guy is ok. Bees, wasps, etc. are so scary because you just never know what the reaction may be. I pulled a bee off of Pickles' leg last week after a walk, found a dead bee on our carpet and a dying bee in P-Nut's bed. What is going on around here?!! We check them carefully after coming back from walks. So far no one's been stung, but I'm a little paranoid right now, on constant bee patrol. |
Happy Baby is Ok I had a similar experience in early October last year with baby Gidget. But different results. Gidget was just 4 months old and was stung on the leg by a wasp. Her little leg doubled in size in seconds. I killed the wasp grabbed her up and headed to the vet doing 80 mph. Vet took one look and grab a shot. Scared him too. Possibly allergic. Now I watch her like a hawk when I take her out. If I see a lot flying around I don't take her out. Gidget knows what they are now. One day early this year a wasp was on the living room floor. How it got in I dont know. She spotted it. Would walk up close to it but not to close and bark like crazy. Then came running to me. At first I didn't know what was going on but then I saw it. Gidget was telling me there was something bad there and get kill it Moma. I laughed so hard at her antics but was relieved she knew to stay away from it. Our babies are so smart. Faith, hope and love to you all. Protect them babies. |
You did the right thing going to the vets, especially if you didn't see where the poor Galen was stung. Hope he's feeling good now. Years ago we had a dog get stung on the tongue and had to have a tube put down it's throat. It's always best to air on the safe side. |
glad he is okay |
