I ran to the room and saw 1 pup on the floor. Im worried she got an injury. Help! I have three 9wk old yorkie pups, I left them sleeping on the bed, went out the room just to get water and return just as quick as I can but as I was filling the glass I heard one them cried like a mad monkey. I ran to the room and saw 1 pup on the floor. Im worried she got an injury, as I was examining the puppy,I made her stand on her four legs and stretched her head upward pointing the sky and she screamed. What could be the injury? What can I do? Vet is far. I cant go there until May 5. Is she just sprained or the jump made a shock on her shoulders? I didnt see how she landed. Please help. |
That pup is injured your going to have to get to a vet immediately it cant wait untill May |
9 week old puppy falls off the bed needs to see a vet NOW. |
Don't wait another day...that little puppy needs to be seen today as an emergency. They are so tiny and fragile it doesn't take much to cause a serious injury. |

I am actually even surprised the puppy is still alive! But it is early yet...one lady on here left her baby on the kitchen counter top, it fell off, hit the tile floor, survived that fall and died within 36 hours from internal injuries. Please...... unless that little innocent baby can get to a vet and pay for it by itself, it is YOUR responsibility to do it! Hit the road and get that poor soul the medical care needed. and get the rest of the babies OFF the bed before you leave!!! Do NOT leave babies of any species....dog, cat, human, etc alone, unsupervised, for even ONE second, on a bed, on a table, on a sofa, on a chair, in a bathtub, in a swimming pool, in a sink, etc.....that is a disaster just looking for a place to happen. |

The person who started this post is, like myself, an inexperienced yorkie parent. We come here to get the benefits of the cornucopia of knowledge that the members are willing to share. She made a big mistake and the puppy is paying for it right now. But she obviously is VERY concerned about her baby or she would not have come here to ask for help. The UNANIMOUS opinion is to get the puppy to a vet and NEVER leave then alone. Let's hope she takes that advice. But belittling someone in this situation serves no purpose. |
Dear OP Welcome and you are new here. Just so that you understand when you post replies they won't show up right away. They are moderated first. In terms of your baby. Neck extension with pain indicates either a neck injury and or a shoulder injury - neither one is ideal. I have no idea how remote it is where you live - but it is very very important to get this pup to the vet right away. In the meantime the pup needs to be isolated and put into a crate/cage/pen. No jumping etc. I wish you the very best |

I am not going to judge the decision to leave the puppies on the bed. Horrible mistake and I am very hopeful it will not happen again. However, I am going to be very very judgemental if you do not seek immediate medical care. That baby is injured because of your mistake. You made the decision to bring those puppies into this world which means you made the decision to take responsibility for all of their needs. If your child was screaming in pain would you wait to seek medical care? I hope the answer is no. I also hope my post is irrelevant because you are already on your way to the ER vet. |
