CRE 0.8 BUN 20 So they were in the normal range. The only things that came out high was RBC, HGB and HCT, which were only 1 or 2 points out of range. The vet called that they got the HILLs prescription K/D treats in, so I am able to get this. He had been so depressed when the girls get their biscuits at breakfast. Can you tell i spoil them. The vet gave us Denamarin. He gets that in the morning and then half an antibiotic in the morning and the other half at night, Doxycycline 25mg. He's had so many visits to the vet for tests that he's scared to get in the car. Just starts shaking. I really hope this diet works for him. I'm gonna do research on homemade treats for him. Thank you for all the good thoughts and prayers. :) |
My Yorkie has had liver disease for about 2 years now. She did have a liver biopsy which was not too bad and the result showed that she has a problem with her portal arteries. She has to have lots of tablets each day and is constantly on antibiotics and has to have special dietary food from the vet. I found out that all red meat is harmful to her and makes her ill, however she does eat fish and chicken, dairy products, fruit and veg. I also give her lactulose (a tip from a another member on this site) from the vet and this has really helped. I had to ask my vet for it as it usually for constipated cats!!! Good luck and let me know how you get on. |
Had the second test. Scooter's numbers went down, but now he has crystals in his urine. The Vet immediately wanted us to take him off his food since bladder stones can become a huge problem. So now we're back on his previous food, and he's still taking the Denamarin. He'll get tested again in two weeks to see if the crystals have gone away. The Vet is kind of at a loss at why the the K/D food would cause this. |
