Hi and welcome to YT. So sorry your little one has PLE. I have no experience with it but hopefully others here can tell you more about it. |

My Cookie has lymphangectasia and IBD. SHe was diagnosed in Dec. 2011 and is doing very well. Here is a link to her thread....perhaps it will help you : http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ia-update.html I, too, was overwhelmed in the beginning. It took a while for me to get over the anxiety of this condition....every time Cookie looked even a tad bit off, I would run to the vet and have blood work done. I still watch her closely, but I am so much more relaxed about it now. She is on the same home cooked diet that she was put on at the time and she loves it! :) She recently had blood work done and all is well. Does your Shyanne have symptoms? Is she on medications? Have they suggested a food for her? Welcome to YT! So glad you found us. |

Hi - Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. This disease has kept me so busy - I can't think!! It stands for protein losing enteropathy. It is something that Yorkies are 10 times more predisposed to. It is quite complicated but what happens is that their bodies don't absorb protein and it leaks into their body. Her abdomen is HUGE. It also causes vomiting and diarrhea. Thankfully though she is doing a little better right now. There is no cure but it can be managed through medication. Right now she is on about 10 of them!! |
