Spot / Lump on Eye (With Pictures) 3 Attachment(s) Hi all Our 13 year old Yorkie has a Lump on his eye. He has had it about 3 weeks. Since he has had it his eye waters a bit. He had a bigger lump on same eye about a year ago but was removed and this one is more in the corner and in a completely different place. I know its hard to tell from the pictures but anyone seen anything like this and maybe give me a idea on what we are dealing with? It does not seem to bother him. Thanks for any help Chris |
Awwww...poor thing. I would definitely take him to the vet so they can check it out. That way if they need to biopsy, remove it they can do it there. It will probably make you feel more comfortable too. |
Looks like a wart. One of mine had one of these & the vet wanted to remove it ASAP as they grow fast & in that area it will eventually start to cause a problem rubbing on the eye. I would deff have your vet take a look & sooner rather then later. |
Ooops, forgot to say Welcome to YT ! |
Welcome! Our 11 year old husky has one. It has been removed many times and comes back. Her is not cancerous. She has one now but the vet doesn't want to remove it because it doesn't seem to bother her eye at the moment. If it starts irritating her eye then they will remove it. The reason for leaving it is because they have already removed it 3 times so she is concerned about scar tissue etc etc. If it's bothering her eye it's probably best to have it removed.....but definately a vet visit is probably in order for your senior guy :-) |
Hi - I would take him into the vet - the fact that the eye is watering and is showing some discharge and pinkish irritation around the socket means that it's def irritating the eye itself. Let us know what happens and good luck. |
Sometimes as they age, like us their eyelids start sagging and the eyelashes invert and can cause sores/ulcer like issues, it is important to get this checked asap. |
