breathing heavy and fast My 5 year old Twinkle is breathing heavy and fast, she is not hot or tired, she is eating and drinking and playing well with heavy panting. I am trying to make her lay down but she won't, she wants to play. Her teeth are in bad shape she is in desperate need of a dental I've been saving for, even though I lost job recently...I am very worried her teeth may be the issue , does anyone have suggestions?? |
My Scrappy was breathing very heavy and fast when we think he ate rat poison. He did not eat, pee or play, however every once in a while made himself get up and drank huge amounts of water. I really hope this is not the case for your baby. Doesn't sound like it, although, the night before he started going down he was still eating and playing. |
Thank you, did scrappy make it??? I do not think that's the issue with Twinkle, there are no poisons she has access too. I gave her pain medicine an it settled her down a lot, so I am definitely leaning toward her teeth. I'm taking her in to be checked tomorrow now she is sleeping and seems OK, thanks for responding. |
It could quite possibly be her teeth...like people chronic infection can cause issues throughout the body. It's good you are taking her to the vet tomorrow!! Please keep us posted ... hoping for the best! |
so sorry about scrappy just read your page...... |
thank you, I'm up now because I'm so worried, she's sleeping well though..... |
Good that you are taking her to vet today. Teeth issue unattended can lead to many more serious issues. Please up date us after you wet visit. |
Geez, I think the logical thing is get the dog to a vet STAT! Teeth cleaning should be yearly and it's only about $80.00 or included in wellness plans. |
I love YOUR pricing on dentals!! |

I have to see where you are located! My vet charges $350.00 and up, depending on what all needs to be done! I havent seen a dental done around here for $80.00 in......30+ years!!! |
I did want to add it could be heart or heart/lung related also....I am glad you are going into the vet today. |
I am waiting for a call back now, she didn't want to eat this morning and eating is her favorite thing to do, once she realized it was chicken and rice, she ate it all but now is just laying down and doesn't want to do much. I'll post back as soon as I know anything... |
I'd like to know where I can get a dental for $80. so she can go today! Our vet is $150 just for initial bloodwork and $500 up for the cleaning, depending on how many teeth need to be removed... |

I hope your pup's problem is not too serious. I too would like to know where I can get an $80 dental! Usually it's about $200+ without extractions. |
