My sweet Jadabug needs your prayers Jada started limping really bad yesterday. She had done a little bit of hopping over the weekend. She wouldn't put any weight on her beck leg yesterday evening. I took her in as soon as my vet office opened. She has a partial ligament tear and is on metacam and crate rest for two weeks. If it doesn't heal she will be having surgery. I pray I can keep her still for two weeks because she hates being confined. She actually gets so stressed. I have her confined to a room with only pee pads and A bed and her water when I'm at work. |
Michelle, from my understanding, a tear is a tear is a tear. And, that means surgery to avoid extreme arthritis. Most dogs WILL improve even without medical intervention but that does not mean they are ok. I suggest you get her to a board certified surgeon for an opinion. Would hate for her to be ok and then later on have major discomfort and have you regret not intervening. |
So sorry to hear this, I will keep lil Jadabug in my thoughts and prayers. Agree, "trying" to keep her confined is stressful for both you and lil Jada. |
I'm so sorry to hear this, prayers and best wishes for your little jadabug :rainbow: |

Thanks for all the prayers. I will do whatever it takes to help my baby girl. |
I am truly sorry to hear about the torn ligament. My Gina, RIP, severed her cruitate ligament and had to have surgery. The ortho vet said that there was a good possibility that she would injure her other back leg within a year due to her favoring her repaired leg. At 11 mos out she tore her other ligament. I opted not to do surgery as it was very hard on her the first time around and she would seizure when stressed. We kept her from jumping and running for about a month. She never had the second surgery and there were no major problems. I can not suggest that you don't do the surgery but talk with an ortho vet and do research before making that decision. Good luck. |
Keeping Jada in my prayers she heals well with just being rested and the meds. It is important to keep her from running and jumping up. Some have resorted to strollers when at home to keep them still. Hugs to sweet Jada! :) |
