I think Kelsey has a fever...help! :( Kelsey is running around hyper as normal, yet her nose is dry and her tummy is hott. Does this mean she has a fever? Im worried. What can I do for her? |
I don't know but sometimes my dogs noses are dry and their bodies feel warmer than other times. I would probably just watch her as long as she is acting normal. Do you know how to take her temp? I don't but probably should learn. |
I don't have any advice but wanted to say I hope she is ok! |
fever Yorkies with fevers rarely run around...a dry nose is not uncommon in the winter..the house gets dried out from the heat. A warm belly is normal..you can get an ear therometer now..makes it easy to take. |
Thanks for the advice. I kept a good eye on her last night and just think she was abnormally warm...but she was drinking a lot of water...hmm. ;) |
Is this the type of ear thermometer that is used for humans, or is it specifically made for animals? Thanks. Kate |
Sounds like your little puppy is just fine. She just has a dry nose and a warm tummy. (My pup's tummy always feels cozy warm to me.) The only way to know if she has a temperature is -- take her temperature. Good luck! Carol Jean |
i would just use a rectal themometer- like for babies! My vet said 101-102 is normal for a dog. I thought Maddie felt REALLY warm one say that we were going to the vet and he took it and said it was finr 101.8 |
